The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) Division of Information Technology (GBIT) has undergone a restructuring to make better use of resources to support students.

GBIT has reorganized into three primary departments within the division, including:

  1. Technology Support Services – led by new director Monika Pynaker – which will include the IT Service Desk, Network Support, System Support, Endpoint Support, AV/Classroom technology support, and support for other locations;
  2. Enterprise Applications and Integration – led by director Mike Bubolz – which will include a team consisting of Business Analysts, System/Web Programmers and Developers, and a soon to be hired Data Integration Specialist; and
  3. IT Administration which will include IT Security and Compliance led by Travis Albrecht’s, Project and Portfolio Management led by Andy Georgenson, and a newly created IT Finance and Budget Coordinator position.

“We are redesigning our business processes to align with IT best practices known as ITIL,” a UWGB press release said. “This will include enhanced IT staff training as we establish systems that will continue to enable digital transformation across the University.”

Additionally, IT Governance is launching with the newly formed IT Administrative Advisory Team. According to the school, the group of campus stakeholders will assist GBIT with prioritizing and advancing key IT initiatives to support strategic growth of the school.
