The University of Iowa has appointed Brad Rohrer as chief information officer (CIO) and associate vice president. His first day was Feb. 23.
Rohrer comes to the new job after 28 years in top technology positions at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.
Those included lengthy stints as CIO, deputy CIO, vice president for information technology, vice president for infrastructure and operations, and executive director of medical information technology.
Rohrer is succeeding Steve Fleagle, who will be retiring later this year.
“I am honored to join the University of Iowa and grateful for the confidence … the leadership team have placed in me,” Rohrer said.
“I am eager to listen, learn, and build upon the strong foundation already in place in close partnership with faculty, staff, and students across campus,” Rohrer said, adding, “I look forward to helping the university navigate what’s next with purpose, clarity, and collaboration.”
