The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) announced a change in leadership today.

Denis Goulet, commissioner and CIO for the State of New Hampshire, will succeed J. Eric Boyette, secretary and CIO for the State of North Carolina, as the organization’s new president. Both Goulet and Boyette were elected to their positions in October of 2019 at NASCIO’s annual conference.

Goulet had previously served as the organization’s vice president. Boyette was recently tapped to become North Carolina’s new Secretary of Transportation. North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced Feb. 4 that Tracy Doaks will replace Boyette as the new secretary of the Department of Information Technology and CIO.

According to NASCIO bylaws, when the office of the president is vacated, the vice president becomes president. The new vice president will be selected by the NASCIO executive committee.
