Connecticut has launched Jobs.CT.Gov, a new online portal aimed at assisting Connecticut residents and those seeking to move to the state in the process of finding a job.

The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services’ Commission for Educational Technology has released “Connecticut: Everyone Connected,” the state’s draft digital equity plan.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont confirmed that the U.S. Treasury Department has approved his administration’s plan to invest $70.9 million in Federal grant funding to upgrade network and cybersecurity infrastructure in the Connecticut Education Network (CEN), connect up to 170 community anchor organizations to CEN, and expand public Wi-Fi service.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced that the state is receiving approximately $5 million through two grant awards from the U.S. Department of Commerce to help develop a plan that will identify and expand access to affordable, high-speed internet, as well as ways to develop skills needed to engage in a digital society.

Connecticut has expanded its online workforce portal, CareerConneCT, including its intake portal, training programs, and a new marketing campaign.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced that the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has launched its new website, which will streamline the online services it offers. Gov. Lamont’s office said the new website is part of the governor’s larger effort to reduce in-person visits and wait times at DMV offices.

The nonprofit Results for America has recognized eight states – Colorado, Minnesota, Tennessee, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington, Utah, and Connecticut – for their achievements in using data-driven and evidence-based policymaking to “accelerate economic mobility, advance equity, and deliver better results for their residents.”

Connecticut has announced that it has created seven new technology education programs at its public and private colleges and universities to increase the state’s competitiveness of its postsecondary institutions.
