The General Services Administration (GSA) is well-known for its work implementing tech solutions across the Federal government, but a GSA official this week praised the work being done at the municipal level to provide 5G services in cities across the country.

The City of Las Vegas announced in a series of tweets on Jan. 8 that it dodged a major cyberattack. The city said it experienced a cyber compromise in the early morning hours of Jan. 7, but that it “immediately took steps to protect our data systems.”

Las Vegas wants to be a leader in technology. The city is working with Cisco to test new Internet of Things technologies via pilot programs in the Innovation District.
