The White House is asking Congress for an additional $9.1 billion to support the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including $6 billion to help fund its Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and $3.1 billion for the FCC to fund the removal of outdated communications infrastructure operated by providers.

The Biden-Harris administration participated in a regional cyber workforce summit focused on expanding access to good-paying, middle-class jobs for all Nevadans at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), a Minority-Serving and Hispanic-Serving Institution.

The Biden-Harris administration unveiled its long-awaited National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy (NCWES) today, securing commitments from 37 stakeholders – like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – to increase the number of Americans in “good-paying, middle-class” cyber jobs. 

The White House said today it has lined up 20 service providers that will offer high-speed broadband service within the price points set forth in the government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), and also went live with a Federal website that people can use to find the services.

The White House announced that it’s launching the Data Driven Justice initiative, which intends to use data to decrease prison recidivism and improve response and care for at-risk and mentally ill citizens.
